What's Up in Whitsett?

Have you driven by the Town Hall and seen a lot of trucks and folks working? We are very excited to let you know that the Town Hall is undergoing a total renovation. Thanks to Council Member Craig York, we have a partial grant that is helping us get started on this huge project! So far, the crawl space and HVAC duct work under the building have been redone and we are currently working on a new roof and then updating the two bathrooms on the main floor. The goal is to restore the Town Hall back to its original beauty as a historical site. Anyone wishing to donate to this project can go to the store on our website and click on the donations button. 

The Town has also purchased some new and additional playground equipment including new slides, a seesaw, a couple of rocking horses and spinning equipment.  There are also two new basketball goals on our court for those of you who love to shoot some hoops! We have also created a new picnic area with four picnic tables, one of which is ADA compliant. There are also two charcoal grills that you can use to have cookouts!  Lastly, we have purchased some benches that have been put in various places near the ballfield and playground for those days you just want to sit and enjoy the outdoors.
